- San Jose State
- Arizona State
- Washington State
- Oregon State
- Notre Dame
Best Case Scenario
David Shaw’s offense again will field an impressive team again. This offensive line is arguably one of the best in the country. Their line will need to be excellent again this year to protect quarterback Kevin Hogan. They also have an above average backfield. This is a PAC 12 defense and the PAC 12 isn’t known for their defense but this Stanford defense has been above average. If their defense can step up and perform they will have a great year. Stanford has a relatively soft front half schedule but the back half of it is where they will need to make it count. Best case scenario for this team is an undefeated season winning their last 4 but most important game. The Stanford Cardinals have an excellent shot at a National title this season.
Worst Case Scenario
Oregon State jumps out on this team in week 9. Losing to this team would seriously hurt this teams BCS chances. Again another crippling loss to PAC 12 rival Oregon and USC in weeks 11 and 12. This Stanford defense has not been great but they haven’t been bad. If this teams defense cannot stop the pass they could be in serious trouble in their last 4 games against pass heavy teams. Worst case scenario this team will win out up until week 8 but drop the final few games and cripple their BCS National Championship chances.
