Does Tim Tebow have a Future in the NFL?

Will Tebow get another shot in the NFL?

Tebow was recently cut by the New England Patriots after being signed by them in the off-season earlier this season. Tebow surely doesn’t think his NFL career is over yet, shortly after being released he tweeted “I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback.” Tebow wants to complete his lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback but will any NFL team give him a shot? Tebows passing skills are poor even with his determination to improve his mechanics as a quarterback. As of now in the NFL no other team is in need of a quarterback or even a backup quarterback in my opinion. In the four preseason games Tebow played in he completed 11 of 30 passes along with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and rushed for 91 yards. These statistics were not enough for the Patriots to hold onto Tebow and keep him on the 53 man roster. There aren’t many upsides of signing Tebow except for maybe some special wildcat packages that he was used in while playing in Denver and New York. There is also another element that comes along with Tebow if he were to be signed. That element is the attention that comes along with Tebow. No matter where or what position Tebow is at he will always draw in media attention that is uncontrollable and not many NFL locker rooms want that. If Tebow were to sign to a team that has a struggling quarterback situation such as Oakland, Jacksonville, or Cleveland, the fans will rally around him and cause a stir similar to what happened with the New York Jets. In New York the fans were not happy with Mark Sanchez and soon we heard the “Tebow Time” cheers and Mark Sanchez jeers. This brought much unwanted attention to that team. In my opinion Tebow is done in the NFL as a quarterback but could possibly find success at a different position in the NFL as a fullback or maybe even a tight end. Tebow has his pros and cons and has even showed he can succeed in the right situation if used properly. It will be interesting to see if Tebow will ever play in the NFL again.
